Your hosts Sherryn Astley and Trevor Donaldson have been the owner/operators of the Balmoral on York since November 2006 and they bring with them a broad range of professional experience.

Sherryn graduated with a bachelor of business in Hotel Management in 1987 and has carved out an impressive career with many five star facilities in Melbourne.   Sherryn has been the Director of Sales and Conferences for the Hotel Regent and Hotel Sofitel, then in 2002 Sherryn moved to the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne where she was the Director of Business Development, Catering and Conference Sales.

In February 2004, Sherryn received her "associate fellow" status with M.I.A.A (Meeting Industry Association of Australia) and in 2005/06 Sherryn acted in an honorary role as Treasurer for the Victorian Chamber of MIAA.   Sherryn's name and reputation is synonymous with major events and conferences throughout Australia.

Trevor has a strong background in event management and specialises in sales promotions and corporate hospitality.

Until 2002, Trevor had been the driving force of a leading Australian manufacturer in the role of Sales and Marketing Manager with huge success locally and across Asia and Europe. Further to the marketing, he also represented the board and management management in negotiating EBA agreements with over 200 staff and also led the steering committee for the business to gain accrediatation with Lloyds to achieve ISO9002 status.

In 2007 and 2008, Trevor was recognised by both the guests and management of Choice Hotels and was awarded one of fifteen "Champion of Choice" awards for outstanding operation and service in each year.   The Balmoral on York continues to flourish and is widely recognised as the leading accommodation provider in Launceston, with number 1 or 2 ranking on every major e-commerce review site.
